Hey YouTube! This trailer was AMAZING and it makes me super hyped for firefly :D She is literally best girl, and I made so many theories in chat after 7:00 minute mark in the video.

By the way, this was recorded on my travel set-up, in case you are wondering why I sounded a little different in the video! But don't worry, things will go back to normal soon!

If you read the Glamoth planar set, you learn that Glamoth as an empire never existed, it was a republic and Titania was created just like the other Fireflies. Titania was the "mother queen" that controlled and commanded via dreams, and all the fireflies lived in this fake dream/illusion of fighting for a queen/empress, which makes it more sad.

Here's my theory about this short: the other survivor before dying, kneels and bows in front of Firefly before saying "For the Queen", meaning that Firefly as the last one is the "queen" now. But an Empire of one is an Empire of none, and you can see that even after the nuke that killed everyone the Swarm is still coming. That's when Firefly decides to use life force (as represented by the tree) as power via that chant (I think it's probably Titania's power and the chant summons it) which gives her the glowing green wings (as a final note, her helmet visor opens up and becomes a "crown") . She proceeded to destroy the planet, since there was nothing else to fight for.
A lot of Amber Eras pass after this.
Then we see a screen turning on, meaning that Kafka wasn't sitting there watching all that happen, and then she quotes something that I assume was Elio's prophecy "Go to that place Kafka, and you will see Fyreflies dancing among the stars."

Firefly JP VA is well known for many roles, but firefly resembles one character she played before. While Firefly has ELS, some, but not all her VA has EDS.

A lot of what Hoyo shows isn't necessarily actual reality. Hoyo has a (bad?) habit of using a lot of visual metaphor and allegory in their animations. Did all SAMs in that battle for some reason get their armour torn off at exactly the same time? Did a giant tree really sprout up under Firefly and embrace her? Did Firefly really just blow up a planet? Was she really just floating naked in space?

Or is the aftermath of the fight more an allegory of Firefly picking up strength from her fallen allies even when homeworld is destroyed, and fighting the remnants of the Swarm to the bitter end?

I'd say it's not necessarily a direct retelling of events.

As well as the parallel i can see with Firefly and Kiana with the clone stuff and the destruction fire element. That flamescion ult at the end that spitted the planet mhm

Glamoth empire was subsequently destroyed during the Swarm Disaster so thats mean Firefly . fluting in Glamoth orbit for thousands of years until they find her ..

She was wiped out with the scorched Earth operation attack, but she survived that somehow. I think that's last missing piece of the puzzle that we know as her origin. If not, then her planet-cracking and resilience to the destruction need some major explaining from Hoyo.

I am still shocked how few people knew the details the game clearly said she was the last of the riders that the empire us gone destroyed by the swarm .

By the looks of it the video is symbolic and metaphorical rather than a literal depiction of events.
First we see SAMs fighting in a fierce battle against the Swarm.
After the orbital strike everyone is nude because the armor dehumanizes them all from our PoV, but Firefly sees the people, her own kin under the armor.
She has her "awakening" moment, with the sprout symbolizing her "rebirth" and new beginning, and the armor going from a shell reducing her into a weapon to the form of her self expression gaiing a new form.

I think that it's really interesting that to combat the hive mind (the swarm) they had to build their own hive mind (the iron cavalry).
