ROUNDUP: A Special 1965 Fender Jaguar

This week I want to tell you about a special, surprising job that came my way back in February. Never in a million years could I have expected this, and I am ever so grateful for it. This 1965 Fender Jaguar belongs to Glen Hansard, who is perhaps my favorite singer-songwriter ever. His music meant a lot to me over the years, so I don't have to tell you just how cool it was to see my work in his hands. But I will, anyway.

Thanks as always for your support. I couldn't do it without you!

Mike is such a good ambassador for these instruments. He gets me excited about my jazz master every time I watch his videos.

Used to hang with Glen in the East Village, NYC back in the 90s. Always a gentleman and a positive spirit. Played a bill with him, but can't recall which joint. Good days. Thanks, Mike. I've learned so much from you in the past year or so. I was wary about that wound G on my Jazzmaster with the Mastery bridge, but I'm going to give it a shot now. Always excited to watch your videos. While my wife and daughter binge Bridgerton...I binge Puisheen! Cheers, Mate!

Absolutely loved this. Great playing on "the Cost". Pretty sure I saw Glen play that Jag, or another like it, on the Earthlings tour with EV and in the opening slot before him on "Revelate". What a thrill.

Whoa! As an Irish guy who grew up with Glen Hansard in the my cultural consciousness, incredibly trippy to see someone really fan over someone who is also one of my idols! Really good vid, you can feel the enthusiasm you have for even the most tiniest details. You're really good at your craft~~~

I had never heard of The Frames before this, of course I had to go and listen to this song. I am floored, what an amazing song.

I just love a tortoise guard on a black Fender. I dare say better looking than an Olympic White/Mint Green combo.

That is a super cool Jaguar. Thank you, Mike, for selling me on offsets. I picked up a used Vintera Jaguar a few weeks ago at a very reasonable price. After a quick neck shim and with some heavier strings, it plays like a dream. Your setup videos have been a tremendous help to me.

Ah! So cool. "Once" was a huge deal for me back in the mid 2000s. An early girlfriend introduced me to that film as it was one of her favourites. Quickly became one of mine too! I should revisit some of Glen's music so many years later. Thanks for the reintroduction through such a cool professional moment for you, Mike!

Fender Jaguar. I think are most beautiful guitars ever made by Fender ever!! The shape! Wow!!
Like 1950's American cars.
Love the Chrome and the quirky tremelo. Love the back of the bridge. The effects you can create playing on that part of the strings. Wow!! Especially with a lot of Fuzz and maybe a Slő or spring reverb.
Just a very versatile instrument.
Love Jazzmaster for all the same reasons. I think I prefer the sound of a jazzmaster. Especially the American pro 11 Jazzmaster.
But Jaguars rule. Kurt Cobain sig Jaguar my favourite. I think that's the model Kurt modded that you have in today's video?
So nice!!💙

Seeing Glen H at the Sydney Opera House 6 or 7 years ago was one of the highlights of my life, probably in the top 3 gigs of thousands I've seen
