Yall played at my best friends house in Portland oregon. His name was Peter. We jammed for a minute in the basement. Its funny how such treasured moments feel so natural and regular while they are happening. I miss those days.. and i miss my best friend. I love you Peter. Save a good seat for me in the great gig in the sky brother.

I wanna tell you a story
Ain't got no characters in it but me
I wanna sing you a sad song
Most of it I don't expect you to believe
It starts off just the Whiskey and Wine
Miles of travel and some real good times
But it ends in a dark corridor
Where there ain't no windows
And there ain't no doors

Well that's me
Just a'drinkin' off this bottle
And a'driftin' out to sea
Well that's me
Just a'sittin here starin'
And a'shakin' like a leaf
Well that's me
Just a'leanin' on my shovel
In this graveyard of dreams
Yeah that's me
Just a'leanin' on my shovel
In this graveyard of dreams

I wanna take you to a shipwreck
A thousand miles underneath the black sea
It looks like everybody's sleeping
But look close they are dead indeed
I wanna lead you to an armchair
Deep black in the files of my mind
I wanna sit you in the candle's light
Where I've been spendin' all of my time

Well that's me
Just a'drinkin' off this bottle
Is it drinkin' off of me
Now that's me
Just a'sittin' here starin'
And a'shakin' like a leaf
Well that's me
Just a'leanin' on my shovel
In this graveyard of dreams
Yeah that's me
Just a'leanin' on my shovel
In this graveyard of dreams

First heard devil makes three after walking out of prison a year ago in the Bay Area and my friend picked me up playing this.

Update: got a new studio and a job. Had some hiccups but finally my life is getting normal again! Thanks everyone and anyone struggling can always reach out to me on here

Music like this is different from modern music in that you feel its meaning even if you don't know the lyrics. Sometimes I got back to this song, as I did with the whole album "self-titled". It helps me get through hard times. And everytime I listen to this song it cuts me really deep.

Yeah that's me
Just a'leanin' on my shovel
In this graveyard of dreams

Man that part really hits me in my soul.

My son is a severe alcoholic, I have seen this insidious drug rob him of his dreams indeed.
As I hold him though his dt’s and seizures and see the terror there I always think of this song.
The brilliance and originality of these young addicts with so much to live for is astounding.
That is why it truly is a graveyard of dreams.
Strangely he introduced me to this song.
Don’t know why but it helps.
Weird?

Like a lot of other outside-the-mainstream artists I've been hearing in the last several years, this music holds true to it's roots without ripping them out! This is as REAL as it gets, something you don't hear or otherwise can't find nearly often enough anymore.
