Inspired by José Rizal’s unfinished third novel, MAKAMISA: PHANTASM OF REVENGE is a 35mm hand-colored silent film about the fragmented history of the Filipino people set during the surreal turn of the 20th century in between the Spanish & American colonizations. It also features a cameo by Lav Diaz as the angriest Jesus in the world and an otherworldly soundtrack by David Toop, Khavn and the Kontra-Kino Orchestra.
