very first statements "It's connected to two different fault zones" is already wrong, it's the Mendocino Triple Junction a junction of three different fault zones.... Mendocino fault along the Gorda Escarpment, Cascadia Fault and subduction zone and the extreme northern end of the San Andreas fault zone.

So much for an 'expert' opinion. He states that the Cascadia Fault causes an earthquake every 700 years. That is incorrect. The average is less than half that and it's been longer than that since the last 'really big one' in 1700, which is not 400 years ago. Burns is a lousy 'expert' when even a rank amateur can look up the history and do the math themselves. Regardless. If you live west of the Cascades be prepared for a bad earthquake in your lifetime. If you live west of the coastal range, know where your nearest high ground is located and how to get there in 15 - 20 minutes if that is even possible
