Idk if you guys have listened to "He was a friend of mine". These two songs to me sound exactly the same.
That song was the ending song in Brokeback Mountain. It was a song written in the Ennis' POV after he lost Jack. Ennis had no courage to open up his feeling from beginning to end. Even after Jack died, he could only murmur "He was a friend of mine" over and over, even though he knew that was the love of his life he lost. The melancholic melodies are exactly the same as "watching over me". Dean/Cas always give me the same feeling as Ennis/Jack parallel
