GAS prices are already at minimum so EIP 1559 release is irrelevant at this point. We will keep on mining until we can't and then hop onto the next POW coin that is it.

Another thing people dont talk about is the "total transactions" might increase as it becomes more desirable to day traders. This could also offset the loss in profits per day if you are processing more transactions per day.

Okay so I saw vitalin bukin in an interview earlier this june and he said the eip 1559 upgrade would not be taking place until late 2022. He himself said this in the interview.

Can you include some discussion around the pools who are against the implemtation of EIP1559? How they intend to "block" EIP1559 tagged blocks and how this would potentially impact miners.

How could burning eth be delfationary? Doesn't burning mean supply will be less? Doesn't that therefore mean the price will go up?

I think I have been equating EIP 1559 and ETH 2.0 but am finally realizing EIP 1559 is just one of many EIPs and updates that lead up to ETH 2.0. If I had to hop over a bunch of technicalities and 'if-ands-buts' to sum things up: EIP 1559 will be implemented in a month or so BUT will still allow mining with decreased rewards compared to pre-EIP-1559 (i.e. the _quantity_ of ETH miners receive). "The Merge" which will happen at the end of 2021 / beginning of 2022 will end PoW altogether and therefore mining overall. Is that right?
