One of the longest running GT models. Often called the little brother to the Zaskar the one thing you cannot call the Avalanche is short on features. With a high-end aluminum frame and geometry similar to the Zaskar, you will be able to be out riding hard without busting your wallet.

Mine is 3.0 in xl from 2006 and i love it so much that now has: xt bottom bracket, slx hollowtech 2 cranks with 36-22 double chainring, sanit pedals, deore front pull front derailleur, slx shadow+ 10 speed rear derailleur, deore 11-36 cassette, xt chain, slx brakes, slx shifters, azonic agile 745mm handelbar, truvativ hussefelt 40mm stem, raceface ride XC seatpost, wtb rocket V pro gel saddle, novatec hubs, sun rims equilizer 31 rims and rockshox pike 426 dualair 110-140 u-turn fork.
It took me everywhere, had a lot of fun on it and i hope it will continue to do that for the rest of my life

I have a GT Avalanche Comp 29 from 2018. It has a tapered frame. I would like to upgrade the Suntour forks to RockShox. My current Suntour forks are straight. My question is can I replace my straight Suntour forks with Tapered RockShox forks on my bike that has a tapered frame and if so what do I require to do this?

I have a 1990 GT Karakorma USA made...and a 1991 GT Team Avalanche Japan made. Those are GT bikes. New GT bikes: buy them used, scrap the shit ALL TERRA parts and upgrade to shimano, AViD and Rockshox. Now you have a barn stormer of a bike....GT FTW!!
