The Classic Double - Television 'Marquee Moon'

Saturday 23rd March 2019 we play Marquee Moon by Television and Stop Making Sense by Talking heads live with a seven piece band at Smithdown Social in Liverpool.

In every city on Earth there exists an infrastructure of musicians, a community of people all set on being as good as they can be at their trade. In Liverpool this is an outstanding trait as it is thought to be the music capital of the world. Many incredible artists have come and gone, leaving their indelible mark on us all.

At present, the amount of hard working and gifted musicians is in an ascendency, with an abundance of local talent and a constant influx of enthusiastic players, being fans of homegrown artists like The Beatles, The La’s, The Coral and Echo And The Bunnymen, all helping to create an atmosphere of playful competition and ambition but, after all, there are only so many venues to play and only seven days in a week, and so, as individuals, we strive to be the best at what we do or we don’t get the gig.

The Classic Double is a group of these special performers - the best of the best, risen to the top, to recreate the greatest music that the twentieth and the beginning of this century have gifted us.

And now you can have it played live, wherever you want us to go.

We can cater bespoke packages for any size event and any size venue, from club to theatre.

If there’s a particular album or albums you’d like to have us play we are open to suggestions but please note there will be a premium added for rehearsal time etc.
