Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said for the first time he is supporting changes to the military justice system that would move prosecuting sexual assault cases out of the military chain of command to independent military lawyers. Norah O’Donnell joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss.

Each weekday morning, "CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs.

As long as investigations are fair and just. That means penalties for false accusations (which are rampant) be established and enforced! 😐

In other news, nellie air force base hosted a drag show….because it’s important for readiness and morale. Our enemies are watching becoming weaker, and they will attack us because of it. Other armies strengthening their soldiers, while we’re busy feminizing ours. If that doesn’t worry you, I dunno what’s wrong with you.

I’m in the military and anyone that has conducted misconduct like this has had the HAMMER thrown at them . Maybe other communities cover it up, but not from my experience.

1. They are too lazy to prosecute
2. They don't care
3. One thing less is better
4. So they can do the same and not have to worry any consequence.
5. NO FREE BITE!!!

I AGREE BECAUSE THE COMMANDER IS JUST GONNA GO ALONG WITH WHATEVER THE FIRST SERGEANT SAYS MOST OF THE TIME.

Women have a long taken part in the military, honorably. It’s time for the US military to step up and make it safe.

As much as I'd wanted to respect this position, I must remind you of the two elements that will make the task very difficult to achieve.

First is the UCMJ, which is an acronym for...

Undersupervised
Commanders
Mishandling
Justice

If you're in a UCMJ courtroom, you're going to be found GUILTY of something; you can beat every charge against you; but your very presence, in the courtroom, is considered "Conduct Unbecoming a Soldier"; congratulations, you're not guilty; now here's your dishonorable discharge.

Second is "accidents"; we'd lost more men and women to ACCIDENTS, than in every U.S. war COMBINED.

There's so many " accidents " that can happen to you; maybe it was dark and your battle buddy had mistaken you for the enemy; or maybe the grenade had slipped out of your hand, as you were throwing it; maybe there was a miscommunication, in the fire order and a shell accidentally landed on your vehicle; or maybe the radio was down that day and they didn't hear you begging for help.

Yep; being a so-called "snitch", in the military, has a tendency to make you become " accident prone "; just ask Pat Tillman, if you can; a little birdie told me that he was about to report someone, when he was killed in a firefight, from a M16, fired from 10ft away, that was intended for an enemy combatant, who wasn't there.

Now, that's what I call an ACCIDENT.

I wish these ladies good luck, with this endeavor; however, I'm not as concerned about the military not believing their testimonies; I'm concerned about the safeguards they're going to implement, if they do believe their testimonies; food for thought.

P.S. To the family of Vanessa Guillen; I'm so sorry for your loss; the UCMJ failed her.
