This is an interesting way of reducing damage and risk during recoveries. Replacing the oldschool metal D-shackle with this soft shackle.

This soft shackle is designed to break before your rope or vehicle recovery point breaks. This reduces the risk of damaging either vehicles due to a heavy object flying and hitting a vehicle when something breaks.

The soft shackle can still dent a vehicle or shatter a window, but it'll do much less damage than the heavier 12-ton rope or a piece of metal.
