Speaking of this chest bug, there’s a bug on Bedrock edition where Chests in Trial Chambers that contain Honey & Spare tools were Completely Empty.

& this explains why everything that was meant to be added in 1.21.10 got moved over to 1.21.20.

you can collect them on a backup, put them in a chest in the nether and then move over the nether file to your current world

There is one thing you can do where you can combine the nethers from two worlds, including chests with loot in them. You can go in that and get amethyst, and while i know next to nothing about it, it seems to be popular

Make a couple copies of your world, in case anything goes wrong, then load the backup, get the amethyst, put them in a chest in the nether/end and protect it and make a copy of the backup. Then replace the world's nether/end file with the one of the backup, load your main world, get the items, replace again the nether file as it was before and BAM amethyst in superflat.

I'm making a Minecraft Mod, and I added some items to the intersection's loot table, and because of this, I had to destroy DOZENS of Trial Chambers, which took many many hours of my life, and didn't even know this bug existed until now

You should get the amethyst in the old version, put it all in the nether, then splice that nether into your official release nether OR get the amethyst in the old version and keep playing from there but keep a backup of the current world in the official release in case they fix the bug

Ok so I don’t know much about super flat but anything I find I’ll put here:

Some say putting chests in the end or Nether can save items as long as you don’t go into those dimensions

Put chests extremely far away in the overworld

Some say there is no way to downgrade with chests but you can downgrade safely but it takes time

That’s all I found but I hope it can help or give you an idea of how to do it in some way

Backup the world then downgrade your current save to an earlier snapshot. It's a win-win.

You should take all that progress you made into the nether, swap nethers, bring the stuff back to the updated overworld, then swap back nether folders! It’ll bring everything across versions!!!
