Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw rules out any privatisation of Indian Railways

There is no plan to privatise Indian Railways as it belongs to the Government of India, said Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Lok Sabha after some members expressed concern over it on Wednesday. The railway minister told the house that Union Minister Piyush Goyal has already made it clear that the railways will not be privatised.

The Union Cabinet's approval on 24-05-22 of "comprehensive restructuring" of the Railway organisation to "remove departmentalism" among Railway officers must spell out all the evaluation criteria to ensure that there is an objective assessment of officers rather than an opaque mechanism for their selection.

As per the new norms notified on 27-05-22, 36 posts at the top of the railway administration have been merged and age will no longer be part of the criteria for heading the Raiway Board.

Confederation of Central Government Gazetted Officer's Organisations (CCGGOO) demands immediate filling up of lakhs of posts lying vacant for years by promotion/LDCE/GDCE and direct recruitment and stop privatisation in Railways and other departments.Five out of seven sanctioned posts of Secretary rank Officers are lying vacant.

CCGGOO opposes arbitrary instructions of Railway Board to surrender 50% vacant posts. Due to huge shortage of employees there is heavy workload due to which the employees & officers are working under heavy stress.

Senior Citizen Construction is no more their. Ok but why then Railway Employees enjoying free travel pass. RAILWAY employee are highly paid then why they need this free travel passes...Why...Mr Minister can you please justify this... Senior Citizen are not able to earn as much as ordinary youths...But Railway Employees enjoying good salary other benefits then why Senior Citizen are only suffering...

I remembered a day when two government employees ( TC ) from ( Jasidih ) Jharkhand forcefully after threatened took the money from me. Even though I had my valid ticket with me. At the time I was job less so I can't forget the huge amount they charged from me. Government employees except indian force, no one do their job properly but they will fill their pocket with money every day from poor people. We must suggest and encourage government to do privatization to Railway.
