I've come to terms with this being a music oriented video essay channel and im just going to continue what I enjoy. Thank you all for your support!

I just love piano jazz songs, also the fact that fukui's songs often seems way more structurated than big classic of jazz.
To me mellow dream is just one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard.

It's odd. He's one of youtube's most promoted jazz artists and despite the likes of Barry harris mentioning how good he was, the jazz scene pretends like he doesnt exist. And this isn't just true for him: other Japanese cats like Masahiro Sayama (who is such a good pianist please check him out) are also not mentioned in the slightest. I guess there's a bias that tends towards american jazz musicians since jazz is an 'American art-form' just as European classical musicians are given more precedence over their international counterparts. As far as i'm concerned (and from my own personal account at japanese jazz clubs) Japanese jazz musicians seem to be the hippest cats around

I’ve noticed artists like Frank Sinatra and Micheal Buble becoming more popular with my friends and other Gen Zs. Hopefully non-vocal classics and jazz artists like Fukui will continue to grow in popularity again in the 2020s

What makes Ryo so special is his amazing technique as well as the bright well structured melodies that he can play so well. RIP to a legend.

This is singlehandedly the most psychedelic jazz album I've ever listened to. The way he just paints with melody and harmony is unparalleled

I’m only 15, and I’ve listened to jazz for a while, but I discovered Fukui a few weeks ago, and he’s for sure my favorite pianist of all time. I wish this genre was more popular among people my age.

Good grief. You seem to believe that no one ever played jazz on piano without a saxophone before Fukui. You don't know much about jazz, do you? Fukui was a very average pianist: Japan counts dozens, probably hundreds of better jazz pianists. His posthumous acclaim is one of those misterioso internet phaenomena.
