Hesitation Is A High Risk Behaviour With Horses

I wanted to highlight a comment that came through that talked about hesitation with horses and what it means. Of course Mr. Wilde is being absolutely monkey through this whole thing, so that's always fun :)

It’s a great point. Horses do have a much better sense of smell than we do, but they can read our body language like a book. Even really tiny things we don’t even know we’re doing. That’s how they are with each other, and we can use that as a bridge between our worlds ❤

Love Mr. Wild's playful spirit. He never fails to make me smile. We don't have the same stamina to play as long as they do, so setting those boundaries are very important and am so glad you included that in your video. I've seen horses play not stop for hours (literally!). lol

Really good thoughts about communication and safety. It never quite sat well with me that horses could "smell" something about you, and they are so observant that it makes perfect sense that they would see hesitation or anything other than clear, confident smooth motion. Hesitant animals have jerky movements. That is noticeable. And in animals that stop or change behavior or direction in response to a flick of an ear or shifting of weight into a hip, it makes sense.
