I think Stuart Pearce was the last old fashioned left back ..strong, fast & big & rarely get injured.. then it was Ashley cole, shaw who are shorter but more skillful & injury prone but not as fast, strong as Pearce & the word tough as nails as Samson in the 80s for England, later on Stuart Pearce in the 90s ..
