DS 7 Crossback - a luxury French SUV taking on the Germans?

This is the all-new DS 7 Crossback. An SUV from the French manufacturer DS Automobiles. DS, a fairly unknown brand, is a more premium segment of the PSA Group. Unlike Peugeot, Citroën, Opel and Vauxhall, the DS brand is targetting the upper market segment and the DS 7 is designed to compete with the likes of BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. But does the DS7 have enough what it takes to take on the Germans? Well, come with me to find out!

Totally agree with your review, I test drove this car twice and it’s really about being relaxed. I drove it in rush outs Paris and I was really relaxed, my driving styled followed and the saleswoman actually asked me to keep driving even though it was the end of the day and she had to go home! Best test drive I ever had :)

The infotainment and cameras are a shame though.

Just picked up my brand new DS7 this morning and I love it. Lots of features as standard which on the Merc & BMW were paid for extras. Looking forward to getting out and about in it.

Not usually a French car fan, but DS do things very differently, always has. Unique design. Good thing they are moving to SUV's I'd say. Thanks Anna, very good review in splendid surrounds, as always

I'm awaiting my DS7 delivery (Ink Blue, Alezan upholstery, Opera ambiance), THP225, full options within a few days from now. Can't wait to get it... I must say that the interior gets in your face the first time you get inside this beautiful car. So much stuff is new, there's a lot of ingenuity and details that take time to absorb. Then you digest the ergonomics, and it strikes you: the style and refinement are absolutely classy! It's so French! I personally think that the German big names are getting slapped right in the face by the style of the DS7. Next to it, their interiors look amazingly dull and sad.

I LOVE my DS7. Bought an Ultra Prestige last year and it's the most beautiful car I've ever owned. Definitely a happy owner here in the UK.

Smart looking vehicle. Not always something you can say about French vehicles and I think we have them in New Zealand. My wife would love it but not enough POWER! for me. Good to see the warmer weather has arrived in Switzerland allowing your wardrobe to take a turn for the better. Looking good Anna.

Hola Anna! Una fantástica reseña, con hermosos paisajes y animales. La DS 7 Crossback es sumamente atractiva. Tanto el exterior como el interior lucen un diseño sin igual, una imagen que la  distingue de las demás. Es excelente la alternativa que ofrece DS, en el segmento premium.
Me gustan mucho los productos del grupo PSA. Aquí en México, solamente se comercializa Peugeot. En su llegada, a fines de los 90's, causo gran aceptación y agrado en aquellas personas que buscaban autos europeos.

En sus inicios, Peugeot tuvo problemas en el servicio post-venta. Una red de distribuidores bastante limitada, con productos que no eran de origen europeos. Afortunadamente resolvieron esto, tomando la decisión de ofrecer productos totalmente europeos, mejorando la red de distribución y el servicio.

This is THE one non foreign SUV I would buy (I am French). As you state, it is elegant, classy, very desirable and different somewhat from the rest. So thanks Anna I think your review is fair. And I see people driving it about and they sure don’t look less than any pricey SUV. It does look majestic on the road, if not impressive.
