Today I'm flicking through an old Argos catalogue from 1976, featuring toys from the 70s, radios, car cassette decks, baby seats, chopper bikes and a whole lot more 1970s consumerism.

Having been 12 when this catalogue came out it was amazingly nostalgic, but I do still wonder what we did all the time. Thank god for the digital age.

@ 6:95 What I and my friends did back then, was play outside for the most part. In the winter we had our "indoor" toys like LEGO, actionman, and so forth.

After watching the other videos, I have to say THIS catalogue has the nicest stuff of all three. Sure, there were no games consoles or computers and cassettes were rather hissy back then, but the overall stuff was lovely to see and I'd love to buy/own a lot of it. Pity it is all in the past.

Love it. I used to constantly look at toys in the Argos catalogue in the run up to Christmas when I was a kid.

Wow a "Kasuga" tape deck. Ive got a Kasuga acoustic guitar from the 70s and it still sounds and playsd brilliant.

Those Access card logo's really date it but other than that I'm sure you'd find those exact same things in the 2016's Elizabeth Duke section.

I think the Argos in Norwich, was where GAME is now (back then) I remember buying some MASK toys there as a lad.

I guess catalog shopping was rather new in the UK when this was out. America already had this figured out for a century by then, of course its' famous Sears' catalog was still going strong during the 70's.

We had a TV with a record deck built in the spring out from under the TV. It was a wooden TV and it has separate speakers. It was ahead of its time to be fair ..I was about 7 in 1987

My friends mum used to have the very same leopard print seatcovers in her
Mini back in the 80's, going through to Folkstone market at the weekend with us kids in the back, cigarette smoke blowing over us. LOL No Headrests in the front seats in them days. Horrible chrome ashtrays in the back that swivelled out.
