Sarah Bassett is a “multiple experiencer” with an equally diverse professional background.

Beginning in early childhood, her STEs (Spiritually Transformative Experiences) have ranged from mystical episodes to psychic and core energy awakenings, and from an After-Death Communication to a NDE. These experiences moved Sarah to explore many of the world’s traditions in perennial wisdom, including Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana), shamanism and the contemporary approach known as Holotropic Breathwork, and she has undergone years of intensive training in related disciplines.

She has helped others tap and cultivate their innate transpersonal abilities through workshops and personal consulting. A member of ACISTE (the American Center for the Integration of Spiritually Transformative Experiences), she recently completed certification to become one of that organization’s first Peer Group Facilitators.

Sarah holds a B.A. in communications/journalism (Phi Beta Kappa) and M.F.A. in creative writing, both from the University of Michigan (UM). At the Naropa Institute, she studied contemplative psychotherapy and Buddhism at the graduate level. As a student of Bhutan’s Gangteng Tulku, she received training in Dzogchen. She also studied with Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche, Khandro Rinpoche and other Vajrayana lineage holders.

Along the way, she taught English and communications/journalism at the University of Michigan, Bennington College and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She has also been a graphic artist, hospice worker, spiritual retreat coordinator, nonfiction writer and a corporate executive.

Recently retired from the corporate world, Sarah is now focused on sharing her own and others’ insights into the transpersonal.

Thanks to Sarah and Diane. This feels like one of the most authentic stories I've witnessed since checking in on IANDS presentations. It's an example of how just telling one's story can comfort and inspire others.

What? I can’t believe it. You saw your father! I had the same experience 3 days after my second child was born. He was perfect. A relatively easy birth without any anesthesia whatsoever. It was about 6AM on a brilliant summer day in June. I got up briefly to get some water, after leaning over my 3 day old son, who had a tiny crib next to me. I came back into the room and I saw my father looking into his grandson’s crib. He was wearing what I remember him wearing. He died shortly after my mother when I was 19. He was young, probably 34 or so. I remember not being shocked or scared in the least. I said only ‘Hi Dad’. In the split second I averted my attention to tell my husband Dad was gone. I am now 66 years old. The memory is still as clear as if it happened an hour ago. Thank you for the incredible account of your experiences!

Thanks to you ALL for posting this IANDS speaker and the link to ACISTE. I have been on the path to find out "What its all about" since the '60s and first experienced transformative spirit experiences via psychedelics. I investigated practices of Eastern religions and sort of wandered with no teacher for a long time. Then I had an experience during an illness that opened up another realm. I, too, began learning all I could about Quantum physics, geometry and math - subjects I'd never been "any good at". The paths to waking up differ enormously, but the understanding is universal and eternal. We open up the same door eventually.
When my old Basset, Maree, passed away, I knew I would see her again, but the emptiness is deep. A little after her death, it was raining outside, I was in our bedroom feeling pretty low. I leaned down to pick up something on the floor, and a white moth flew around my head, then flew down around my face and fluttered against my lips - a 'butterfly kiss'. It flew up, circling my head and took off down the hall, disappeared. HOLY COW!! Maree sent the moth to tell me "I'm okay, I'm around!"You KNOW these messages if your heart is open, if your sorrow can take a back seat for a while. People are becoming aware of thousands of such beautiful messages from not only our beloved humans, but our animal friends, too.
To the lady who wondered about our pets returning: please be aware of the many good animal communicators you can find on the internet, who tell us ABSOLUTELY our pets can come as another creature, can send a comrade to be our new friend and pets and our human loved ones can exchange manifestations. Our pets are always close by, always wanting to comfort us if we are still. And listen. Thanks again, namaste

A remarkable presentation. Thank you for all of the IANDS events. You perform a valuable service to humanity. However, many of the the videos submitted to Youtube do suffer from poor audio. I belive this discourages people from listening to them. It seems that there is often someone near the mike that is shuffling things, coughing, eating, sniffling, etc. There must be a way to address this issue. These talks are too important to be marred by these irritating distractions. That said, I am still so very grateful for your efforts to share these experiences with the world.

Thank you for the message at the top about trying to improve audio quality - I hope it is referring to the coughing. Otherwise, the quality seems fine. I do hope the person coughing is on the mend, and I do not mean to be rude, but I literally could not hear or pay attention to the speaker at times. This is not the first IANDS video in which there has been a tremendous amount of coughing. I try to be patient and understanding, but it is happening too many times on these videos lately, and I do not know how much more I can take before I move on to another channel. I'm just trying to give honest feedback because I genuinely LOVE all of the presenters and their amazing stories. Considering the subject matter, I am working on being as zen as I can in this life, but I guess all it takes is relentless coughing to show me how much more work I need to do. :) Thank you. This was an amazing speaker.

It could be such confirmation if she had gone through an actual "past life regression session through hypnosis". The string that would tie it all together- the subconscious mind has the answers that are on the other side of the "veil of forgetfulness" that we agree to, when we choose our next incarnation. The subconscious (SC) can speak matter of factly during hypnosis to reveal how our past lives, the spiritual lessons we agree to, the emotions involved that lead to our physical illnesses & even helps us clear unneeded emotional baggage that will lead to physical healing. Some similar happend to a distant relative of mine who died in a province away from his home... their maid saw him home and she asked him *(I thought you were on vacation?)...* she said that the only thing he said was, there is a list of people who owed debt to him hidden in the hardwood floor in his room... when my relative's wife went home, before she could say anything, their maid told her that her hasband/my relative went home and told somethings to her just an hour ago, his wife let the maid finish her story and later said, *(How could that be possible when he died back in the province by the time you said you saw him)...* they also checked the floor in his room and sure enough the list of people who owed dept to him was hidden where he said it was.

To have that kind of profound memories from birth on, I truly believe you are a reincarnation of a great Tibetan spiritual practitioner or Rinpoche from one of your previous lives. 🙏 Thank you for sharing.

Has there ever been a marketing campaign director on stage? What's so funny about NDEs is that the marketing budget is so spectacularly large in comparison to what's actually required that we can make the final product a "magical" experience with minimal effort, which leaves room for huge bonuses when you tools purchase books and other silly merchandise. I can tell you this and you'll still keep falling for it.
