Koba believes Caesar is weak because he was unwilling to fight the humans. When in reality it makes Caesar a very wise leader. A good leader evaluates a situation and looks at all the alternatives and only chooses to fight if there is no other way. If you rush blindly into battle (like Koba) then you loose lives on both sides, which is what happened when Koba took over. Apes lost their lives to a war that could’ve been avoided if Koba hadn’t struck first. This is what Caesar was trying to tell Koba, if peace is an option than a good leader searches for it. War isn’t pretty and anyone who rushes blindly into it is a fool. Koba could have let go of his hatred, but instead he let rage guide him and let his past determine his fate.

A wise king never seeks war, but must always be ready for it

I find it interesting that Koba has a deepest hatred towards humans but he himself resembles more like a human than other apes by speaking more frequently like a human

What’s sad is it feels like Caesar saw himself from the first movie just blinded by pointless rage and hate

I do feel for Koba, but It’s always been strange to me how it seems that only after Koba found out humans were still alive he seemingly descended back into madness. Like he seemed to be genuinely loyal to Caesar and saw him like a brother and was even a good friend to his son. We saw him grow to love Caesar and was very happy living in the village with his fellow apes. It’s like when he saw humans again his past came back to haunt him and he wanted to get rid of it once and for all and in doing so lost everything he had gained which was a family. He did things I don’t think he would’ve ever done if he hadn’t found out about the humans. His hatred for things done to him in the past was greater than the love he had gained in the future which is quite sad to see. Very amazing story writing and character development.

Just Imagine how the dialogue between Kong and Scar King would be before they begin fighting.

I've gone back to watch the Caesar performances in the newer films. How hasn't his character been nominated for an Oscar? Everything about Caesar as a character is amazing

Bruh i could literally feel Caesar rage when koba said he loves human more than his son. He rarely let loose, but when he does, he goes crazy

This is where he Learned Ceasar didnt wanna fight because he was weak. He just didn't want both species to fight each other to extinction. He was quickly taught thay Ceasar has been putting up with his shit not because he is scared or worried Koba could win but because he chooses not to end him like Koba does to anyone who questions him.

Toby Kebbell was perfect as Koba. The most underrated actor in Hollywood. Saw him in a Black Mirror episode where he plays a husband who’s been cheated on. And I couldn’t believe how good an actor he is after seeing him play that role and then learned he’s Koba in Planet Of The Apes.
