I actually did that with a skirt years and years ago. I had two denim skirts that didn't fit nor flatter, so I cut them up and sewed them back together and I've had it for... nearly 20 years now? (Holy shit I didn't realise its been that long) and I still love it.

Asymmetrical! That was So Cute! I would make it longer, a lot longer, and add other materials in, but I'm a big fan of Altered Couture and Mori style. 👍🏻

Another tip. If you ever end up with clothing that is just a little short, but fits perfectly everywhere else you can put a cute trim or lace at the top, or bottom edge. I have saved many of a shirt that was just a little too low cut. You can even add trim on other parts of the garment to tie the look together. This is also great for growing kids. I would hate when my kids would grow out of a their favorite pair of jeans that still fit them perfectly except for the height. A few dollars for lace or another amazing trim and then those fabulous jeans would last until the next growth spurt. Oh one last thing, when distressing a knitted garment make sure it's just knitted fabric and not a machine, (or hand knitted) sweater. If you cut holes in something truly knitted if will just keep unraveling while you wear it quickly. You can get around it with the use of fray check or fray block, but I would still be careful with knitted garments. I hope this helps. I love the look!!!😍💖💖💖

Love this idea. I actually have a pair of white jeans in the back of my closet that I can’t bring myself to giveaway but they also do not fit 😢 I also have an inspiration picture for an a symetrical distressed skirt I fell in love with while watching some random shows anyway! I’m gonna try this out! Wish me luck
