I enjoy William Duvall's effort here. He doesn't try to copy Layne he takes his own spin on the song and it sounds pretty damn good!

Whoa! A dude in his 40s covering the songs that Layne Staley sang in his 20s and still sounding this good is a rarity. These songs require a lot of power and Duvall does deliver and does immense justice to this song. Whoever says Duvall sucks can really shove it. I can't think of anyone else who could've been a better replacement. Of course Alice In Chains won't be the same without Staley, but it won't remain this good either without Duvall on the vocals (or without Cantrell on the axe).

I literally have never listened to AIC without Layne before listening to this and I think this guy sounds great.

I don't see why people have trouble with A.I.C. still making and putting music out. They aren't doing it for the money, they're doing it because they genuinely love music. That's one of many reason why they'll always be a legendary band.

he does extremely well, sad to see that just because he's not Laney, people reject him

Jerry is the man trying to keep the band alive

I love Duvall. No of course he isn't Layne, but this dude has grown into their lead singer, and he's awesome. Last two chains albums were great.

I think William Duval deserves great respect, honestly

I lost my daughter 2 years ago to leukemia at the age of 21. She is irreplaceable and we miss her immensely. That being said, if I adopted another child, I would love him/her as if they were my own. I would do all the things right this time knowing what I did wrong the first time and learning from my mistakes. The same should go for William Duvall. He's not Layne but he deserves our love and support just as if it would still be Layne on that stage. I guarantee Layne would feel the same way and be honored to have his music still be played to the masses instead of dying off on the oldies station only. Jerry didn't reignite this band to replicate Layne.. it's impossible. He wanted to keep the memories alive and give you all the legacy you deserve. RIP Layne ...and William. I appreciate your efforts and you and Jerry mesh so well together. It still has that AIC sound when it comes right down to it and for someone that doesn't sound exactly like Layne, I still find myself loving the new music and allot has to do with Jerry's amazing ability with his harmonies. You go back in most songs and it's Jerry's voice that is almost instantly recognized because he was the backbone of the songs. Sure Layne was the catalyst that made them explode on the scene but without Jerry in the background it would be a totally different sound.

Duvall is one of the most underrated vocalists out there. It's not easy to sing another singer's song and nail itn

the crowd needs to show some respect. when i saw them in 2019 the crowd was amazing. they brought him in to honor layne, not replace him and people need to remember that. he in my opinion is the best person that could honor him.

Nice voice and power from William. This is not easy for nobody. This is the anthem. One of the best vocal works of the history. I love this song.

The problem is not Duvall being a bad singer, he is awesome and his voice is great, nothing wrong with him. The problem is that Layne was a god, his voice had every single element to be perfect. The power, the anger, the sweetness, so perfectly tuned, he was perfect for Alice in Chains, and AIC fits layne.

Jerry Cantrell, Alice in Chains ... thank you for the music.... and for being part of my generation.

It’s hard to listen to Duvall sing the old AIC songs from the Layne era because Layne was able to put out his immense pain into words. The emotions, holy shit you really felt it. That being said, he’s a badass vocalist and harmonizes great with Jerry. Layne’s gone. But I’m so glad that AIC has kept the music flowing. It was very hard for me at first but I had to step back and see that yes Layne is irreplaceable, but Layne wasn’t the entirety of AIC. There are 3 other members who made the group as well. Duvall got Jerry’s approval to move forward, and I think that’s all we need. AIC still fucking rocks you guys.

Layne Staley ain't dead. he's my next door neighbor actually. Lol no but in all seriousness my neighbor looks just like Layne in his 40's

Duvall sounds a lot like Layne Staley at times but still adds his own touch. It's good
