IPv4 to IPv6 transition - 6to4 tunneling

Показать описание
IPv4 and IPv6 will coexist for a long time. Many techniques were developed to handle this transition. These techniques can be summarized into three categories: dual stack, tunneling and translation.
There are many tunneling technologies, such as manual tunneling, 6to4, ISATAP, and many others.
Today my topic is 6to4 tunneling, also known as automatic 6to4 tunneling.

Keywords: dual stack, manual tunneling, 6to4 tunneling, ISATAP tunneling, translation, 64NAT, IPv4 to IPv6 transition, IPv4- only network, IPv6-only network, happy eyeballs.

My topics are organized by playlists:

Amazing explanation. Your videos are quite interactive. Do you have PPTs on IPV6 as well?

Thanks a lot for the interesting topic. As I understood You do only theory videos, that is why I want to clear some points. I want to understand communication between two routers (R1 and R2) 6:02. Let say I use RIP or OSPF (IPv4) between these two routers. Host side is IPv6. Do I need an extra setting for 6to2 tunneling or just setting router protocol between these two routers enough to send a frame to another network?

Best lectures in youtube :) Thank you very much. Do you have any plan of making lectures on routing protocols and algorithms?

Thank you Sunny! Just a question, Is it always necessary to translate the wan address ipv4 to ipv6 32 bit hex? Does 32 bit has to base from the ipv4 egress address?

Thanks for the good explanation! I.m.o this looks like fake IPv6 transitioning, since you're keeping 1:1 translations with IPv4 addresses (correction: for public addresses at least) and are obligated to use the same prefix anywhere, there is not really a point to it, except that you can use IPv6 internally without the need for translations. However, I do understand that this can be viable where dual stack is not an option AND NAT64 cannot be used. :)
