What is 4D scan or 4D ultrasound? What is the difference between 3D and 4D?
2D - is real-time and uni-planar image of the fetus
3D - is still volume, and it is created from multiple 2D pictures of the baby
4D - is moving in real-time 3D image of the fetus

4d sonography is not also to see beautiful picture of face but also helps us to diagnose fetal face abnormalities such as upper lips cleft

4D is the 3D U/S recording in real time so it also shows movement. So 3d will have still pictures but 4d will be like a video. 3d - taking 3d pictures, 4d- recording a video of the baby's movements in 3d

Precious little one!! We had ours today too, the baby was not having it at first, she had her hands, legs, and cord all in her face and then decided to move her face towards my back! We ended up going to get lunch and came back 2 hrs later and tried again. We saw her yawning twice and got a some what good pic of her. Over 80 images and only around 15 good looking ones!

i guess i'm still kind of confused. time is counted as 1 dimension, right? and that dimension is visible to us as movement, right? but there is also movement in the '2d', so why is 2d not considered to have time as an additional dimension?
