During DM-2 Commander Doug Hurley had a touching moment that has deep ties to STS-107 or the final fight of Space Shuttle Columbia. It was a very touching moment that was very fast, quite subtle and easy to miss. We go in to detail as to what happened and the meaning behind it.

Jared covers traditions and US spacecraft test flights. We wrap with Dr. Tamitha Skov giving us a busy space weather update and some knowledge on how it affects rockets.

Loved the reaction to the Demo-2 launch! OMG! That's exactly how everyone felt. GO GO GO!!!

My launch day tradition involves me violently shaking with anxiety and drinking my weight in coffee. Seems to do the trick.

I wondered why they pulled what seemed like a name tag off the loading crew suit! Thanks for explaining Garrett, that’s so much more meaningful than I thought

Great episode and a flight the crew and fans of TMRO have been waiting for!

My tradition involves turning on David Bowie’s “Life on Mars” 45 seconds before liftoff so that the big hit of the song happens the same time the spacecraft takes off. Perfected it after the third Falcon Heavy mission

We're hanging in with TMRO...and this edition gave added value along with all the other good sources out there. Well done.

My dream is that one day everyone will cheer for scientific achievements the same way they cheer for sporting events like you guys did here

Waffles, Idlis and Poha. Had that for breakfast on launch day and Demo 2 went all the way to ISS without a hitch! 😀 So that will be my new tradition ... have that weird mix of breakfast when humans launch to space! Probably twice the amount when Starship launches with people! And when Gaganyaan launches with Vyomanauts (I am an Indian American) 😀

I have t-shirts for every country’s space program and for each private company so I wear the appropriate t shirt for the launch day

My launch day traditions are:
1. If I have a model of the vehicle, it goes next to the screen.
2. Bacon and egg sandwich with at least 2 cups of coffee in my NASA mug

The first flight of the Space Shuttle was at one point going to be a RTLS. John Young described "RTLS requires continuous miracles interspersed with acts of God to be successful"

If we define Apollo 10 as a mission to the Moon, be aware that it launched from Pad 39-B at Kennedy Space Center. A lot of outlets are saying that all the missions to the Moon left from 39-A. In terms of surface missions, that's true, but the statement sits uncomfortably with me given Apollo 10's important role in Apollo's history.

👍👍😊😊 Very nice overview of "firsts" and traditions - and now we have another one "ticked off" - what is next ? 😉
Astronauts ARE special breed - I was calming myself by playing ISS Docking sim .. - and I thought I was patient balancing between blue and orange speed ..
