THE TILES IN QUICK SETTING ARE NOT A WASTE. THEY ARE FINALLY LOW ENOUGH TO USE WITH ONE HAND!! BEST DESIGN DECISION EVER.

Those big texts are there to make it easier to use with one hand on big devices. It's sort of a pull down for one handed mode

The huge banner is to bring options more to the middle and bottom of the phone. I like this because it will make it easier to use with one hand. It is a smart move.

That huge banner is for reachability. It is good . Navigation gesture should be like One operation + on samsung good luck 2018. It is awesome

I love the decision of putting big headers on top of each menu it is good for one hand use. I love the idea

I think that huge banner is for reachability. Might be wrong but it's just my opinion.

I hope they remove that huge banner in every menu

Am I the only who really likes the huge banners? I think it looks pretty nice because it is something new and not only that, it is easier to tap high menus when using the phone with one hand.

Love it. These updates will go great with Nova Launcher. Especially that Dark Theme through out the system.

They added the huge banners on the top and moved everything down to the bottom so you don't need to reach across the entire screen to press something. It's a lot more useful for one handed use it's not just a cosmetic update.

Those huge banners are for ERGONOMICS.
since everything is about halfway down the screen it helps reach everything easily since phones are getting taller and taller.

Those big text at the top and rounded tiles starting from the middle is for one hand reachability and i think its quite smart as the phones are becoming taller^_^

What you talking about, the texts look great, one of the best things of windows phones for instance was the os design and these title texts were big part of it.

The quick settings are moved towards the bottom for ease of one hand use. We already have swipe down from the home screen to open the quick settings, so bringing the quick settings towards the bottom will help getting access to them much more easily while holding the phone with one hand.

I think that the big text at the top servs the one-handed-use. For example in the quick-settings, you can reach the toggles easier with one hand than before.

Samsung just announced that everything you showed in this video will be available for S9, S9+ and Note 9 users when the update rolls out on January 2019, it will be called One UI
Great video!

just like many things, the huge banners are a feature you can't enable or disable yet, its forced on.
It's some enhanced form of one handed mode, made for bigger devices (hence why the first build of this was made for the S9+, not the S9). I believe the banners size will be changeable by the official release, or at least the first beta build (this is currently an alpha build).
