Fire. The Wheel. Electricity. And now, the JHS Pedals/Keeley Electronics Steak & Eggs. Josh Scott of JHS and Robert Keeley of #Keeley Electronics stopped by the store to give us an exclusive first look at their first ever collaborative effort.

The Steak & Eggs is a perfect pairing of overdrive and compression that you may never turn off.

The left side of the Steak & Eggs is JHS Pedals’ classic Morning Glory circuit with an available high-gain setting, of which JHS fans have been yearning for years. The right side is a new 3 knob version of Keeley Electronics classic compressor- this new version of the famous compressor features a blend control which allows players to blend back in their original signal for very punchy tones. In the center you will find a toggle to select the order of the effects: when the toggle is to the right, the compressor is first, when the toggle is to the left, the Morning Glory is first. This gives you total control over the way the compression and overdrive affect one another.

With these modified classic overdrive and compression circuits in one box, the Steak and Eggs is the perfect staple for your pantry. Marinate your ears and incubate your tone with the Steak and Eggs.

Love blend knobs! My Xotic SP Comp has one too and is awesome to dial in just right. Only problem is it also reduces the brightness if you blend in the compressed signal past 30% which sucks. This having a bright switch is amazing! Can't wait for mine to get here!

Using the compressor afterwards and having both on can deliver you clean to distorted at the same volume simple using the volume knob of the guitar... the volume knob becames the saturation knob!

Does the keeley compressor have a fast attack or a slow attack? I can't quite figure it out from the sound.

For those who aren't too familiar with the Morning Glory, in and by itself it's a real chameleon - it changes a lot depending on your setup: it feels different with different guitars, is extremely suitable single coil pickups, and sounds completely different when using other amps. And yet it always seems to hit it home. You owe it to yourself to see what it can do. Very highly recommended in the Double Barrel format. For those of us who have the Double Barrel, now we can stack two Morning Glorys!
