Project EULER - Drop Test

Показать описание
Testing is an important aspect of any rocket project. To ensure the proper functioning of all rocket parts, every subsystem has to be tested before any launch. Here you see the video of Project EULER's drop test in Wissifluh, LU. We conducted the drop test to validate our parachute concept for the recovery of EULER. The goal of such a test is to show that all rocket parts are recovered safely. 🪂
We equipped a model rocket with the parachutes and lines as they will be flown in the final configuration of EULER and dropped it from a gondola 80 meters above the ground. Following ARIS’ strict safety requirements, detailed procedures for securing the drop site as well as ensuring the safety of the rocket team were created before the test. The team being well prepared for the test is also reflected in the outcome: all three parachutes of the model rocket unfolded in two subsequent tests as expected, making the parachute system ready to be flown during a launch of EULER. 🚀
We want to thank Jürg, Sidney, and Sylvia Trionfini for the chance of using
their gondola during this test.
