Seal Wears Red Bandana

What might seem cute or amusing isn't funny for the animal: a seal is stuck with a red fabric wrapped around his neck like a bandana. Whether he mistook the fabric for food or a toy, the result is the same - he is now trapped. While some fabrics stretch, they can still cut into the seal's flesh. Textile waste is a huge problem for our oceans, and even natural fibers like cotton or hemp take too long to break down. By the time they decompose, the seal might have already starved or suffocated. Rubbish doesn’t belong in the ocean - there's no positive outcome for wildlife.
