This award winning 68 Opel wagon sold for $18,750 plus a 6% buyers fee at a local Collector Car Auction I went to recently in Palm Springs, California.

We had a red 1966 Red Opel Station Wagon which we bought brand new when I was a kid, looked the same except for the front grille which was a silver chrome color, the black front grille didn't come until about a year or 2 later.

My dad and I bought two- one with a blown motor for 150 bucks in 80-rebuilt into one that rivals this car. We painted red-but a little deeper-and black for the rocker panels and the raised t of the hood. I hand laid the lightning bolt logo on the air cleaner as well. We touched every part of that car-didnt realize it was a nut and bolt restoration-we just thought we were fixing it up. Sold it for 1500-if only pop could see what its worth today!
