For context in Hungary men go from house to house to water the flowers. Women play the role of flowers. So that’s why they used to get water thrown on them. Nowadays bous and men go from home to home reciting poems and spritzing perfume on every female member of every household so they won’t wilt.

In Poland, we have a similar tradition to Hungary, excapt that nowadays, it's mostly kids running around with waterguns.

We do the same in Finland as in Sweden!

Here in the Czech Republic, men go to Easter with a wicker braided into a pom-lazka and whip the women with it so that they don't dry out, the women then give them painted eggs called kraslice, chocolate and alcohol for adults, mostly homemade slivovice. Men, however, can only go to whip until noon, because after noon women can pour a bucket of water on them. And a leap year is special in that women can also whip men, but only after noon

In Czechia we actually whip the girls with so called "easter whip" for some reason XD

In greece we paint eggs red at play a sort of game where you smash the top of your egg against the other's bottom and vice versa

In Sweden, it was the kids who gave candy and other treats to neighbours now we have changed it into kids geting candy. Btw I dont like it bc it makes it just to be halloween

In Israel the students take a 2 ½ weeks break and we make a big meal called "Seder dinner" and after that we don't eat any kind of food that includes flour for a week!

It's a swedish urban legend that on a Thursday during easter known as skärtorsdagen all witches gather at the island of blåkulla to worship the devil. The kids are dressing up as those witches on their way to the island

Wait yall in sweden just go and knock and get candy bc in finland we do that but we give a ”videkissa” branch decorated with fake feather (also its different weeks for the finnish kids and Swedish kids)
