2016 Ford Focus Review - Fuel Economy Test + Fill Up Costs

We do a fuel economy test of the 2016Ford Focus. The Focus competes with:
- Toyota Corolla
- Honda Civic
- Nissan Sentra
- Mazda 3
- Hyundai Elantra
- KIA Forte
- Mitsubishi Lancer
- Chevrolet Cruze
- Dodge Dart

I have the focus se 2.0L auto and I get 37-40mpg on the highway on 87 octane gas when alone going about 65-70 and AC on. When I have a full car going 80 with AC on, I get about 34-35mpg

Wow i have a 2016 focus and get from 35- 42 MPG .Mostly get about 40 MPG on highway driving. Seems to be a ok car have 30k miles so far 0 problems.

I get 32mpg e85 in my focus in the city and 29mpg highway(5th gear is 3250rpm) but I do not let my car idle for more than 3-5 minutes.

Do you drive aggressively? This isn’t really comparable too if the car is new because it generally takes ~2, 000mi of break in before the powertrain operates efficiently.

i think sticker says this gets 40mpg on the hwy, 30 is very disappointing.

If he started with a full tank and drove 281miles then filled his tank with 11.9 gallons then thats 23 mpg!

I guess it would be helpful to specify how fast you are driving on highway. Driving about 80 on the highway, I'm averaging 34 MPG.
