Little correction, in Europe and most countries using 240V - 1-phase (like Thailand), the hot wire carries 240V and the neutral carries 0V. I imagine the situation when both wires (hot and neutral) are carrying 120V is exclusive to the USA :)
If you want to make the connection more stronger, use some ferule terminals/connectors, BUT make sure you are using the ones rated for your maximum current, otherwise KA-BOUM :$

Hey be careful bro, with stranded wire it’s often better to use crimp connectors for a more secure connection. Also it’s better to put different wire sizes under different screws to better distribute pressure on the wires. And one last thing it’s better to have a little copper showing and not have the insulation under the screws.
