Although most of us are now familiar with many statistical models describing COVID-19, epidemiologists have been modelling less-recognised but critically important infections for decades. ‘Neglected tropical diseases’ refers to a diverse set of infections that affect communities in poverty. They often have complex biological life cycles and require multidisciplinary data to be modelled effectively. These talks will showcase how researchers are tackling these challenges to predict and control a range of vector-borne viruses and parasitic worms.
