Lock In 7% With Government Bonds:

Caterpillar is by far the most successful industrial machinery company in the entire world. Their iconic yellow excavators and bulldozers dominate construction sites around the world. And Caterpillar is even involved in auxiliary industries such as smartphones. This makes Caterpillar one of the only industrial giants in the Fortune 100 who are still crushing in the 21st century. The story of Caterpillar wasn’t always so smooth though. For decades the company was a smaller family company that made tractors and after the family passed away, Caterpillar nearly went bankrupt. It was actually Caterpillar’s biggest competitor that merged with Caterpillar and took it to new heights within the construction industry. This video tells the story of how Caterpillar become one of the most successful blue-collar companies in the world.

Caterpillar is the very manifestation of, "Don't dig for the gold, sell the shovels, "

I'm actually very familiar with the company only because I played with their toys as a kid.

No one's ever been fired for buying Caterpillar.

As a casual admirer of construction equipment, something I really love about Caterpillar is the "readability" of all their machines; no matter the scale. When you see one you immediately understand what it does and how it likely works, and the implementation of new tech is reserved and thoughtful enough that nearly anyone can learn most of the intricacies of their operation just by blindly playing with the controls for a bit.

The reason why no one comes close or is trying to get into the market is experience and quality. These machines cost millions, as a buyer I would always spend the million on a brand with a proven track record in quality and durability.

Mastercards margin will never not make me chuckle.
They literally just sit there, do next to nothing and get money lmao.

My grandpa has a cat phone, he is a farmer and he says it's more durable than a brick. His machinery is made by cat and his radio is also made by cat

Often said that the only companies America would go to war over is John Deere and Caterpillar.

My family has owned construction companies and worked in construction for 40 years. A job has incredible amounts of opportunity cost. You need equipment that will not break down and that will be able to perform the work that needs to happen. On a $40 million bridge job paying a little extra to have yellow equipment is not a problem.

Cat does not fail.

Looking online, caterpillar is 16% of heavy equipment market and komatsu is second with around 10%

I had a CAT phone with a thermal imager for work once. It was super cool. Had a really good FLIR system. I could chase my cats in the garden at night 😂😂

I remember when I was a kid, and I saw a scrape on the pavement left by an excavator. I looked down and asked what happened and my friend said it was a cat. I thought he was talking about a regular cat so I was like no it wasn’t! a cat couldn’t do that! Lol he kept the joke going for a while till he explained cat was short for caterpillar.

Nice change of pace! I love the Caterpillar brand after having worked at a logistics company a few years ago that would deal with Caterpillar parts which were very well documented. Thanks Hari!

I've got one of the rugged Cat flip phones (could probably drop that thing off a roof onto concrete and it would be fine) and wear their pants and boots everyday at work. In general their stuff is surprisingly good quality for the price.

I repaired wellhead generators for years. Lots of caterpillar 3500's in the oilfields, running 24/7 365.
