Holley in action

Footage shot directly over one of the two 750 Holley carbs on a 700 HP 8-71 Supercharged Buick 475 ci engine- Built by Tri-Shield Performance. Tested at R&R Performance in Spring Lake Park MN.

Back in the early 70s I had a ski boat with a 455 Olds high compression (14:1) engine in it. It had a double pumper Holly on it. Oh, it would go thru some gas very easily especially at 6000 rpm but hey the sound that engine made and the sound the carb made let everybody know you was coming!

Interesting to see how the carb worked. Although the throttle plates looked identical in size, they operate in stages, like a pair of primary and secondary barrels operating sequentially.

Interesting, thanks for recording and sharing. Can't tell if the engine bogs or the dyno load is increased, right when the secondaries open. Also, very surprising to see fuel continuously being pulled from both accelerator pump nozzles while running.
