Honestly I like Nickel Backs early stuff. The newer stuff is lame by comparison. But you can't say they aren't talented just because you don't like their music. They've sold a lot of cd's.

I'm far from a "hater" and the rabid, mindless hatred of the band is downright stupid, but let's not get carried away. They're a mainstream, bland, generic band that frequently toes the line between rock and pop. That's not to say they haven't written some good songs, but they're, for the most part, a symbol of what's wrong with the rock music industry today.

Nickelback is solid rock. Weak vocals? Go back to your pavorotti collection and your weak beer. A lot of music now doesn't even have a formula. Some groups now take the melody or the backing track and apply their own lyrics. They can't even be bothered to write their own music. Nickelback, like so many great rock groups in the past have their own sound, their own formula. Scientific? Who gives a s____.
