Britons worried about leaving the European Union should feel "enormously reassured" by the free-trade deal agreed last week, Chancellor of the Exchequer (finance minister) Rishi Sunak said Sunday.
Sunak called the deal "one of the most comprehensive free trade agreements ever signed".
He said the negotiated agreement would help "put the divisions of the past behind us, embrace our future with confidence and optimism".
Britain voted narrowly to leave the European Union in a referendum in 2016, but the result has continued to divide the country and dominate domestic politics.
