#ASKMARK... Is there a best practice timeframe to work with; in order to have your dive gear, ie. 1st & 2nd stage hoses/connectors & tanks technician checked and serviced to ensure dive safety over X?? number of dives or a given timeframe, regardless of the number of dives? 🤿🇦🇺👍

#askmark Hi Mark, any tips on how to clean the insides of a DSMB? Also, what is your recommended method of inflating a DSMB?

#askmark Single Tank height question - When I did my OW many years ago, my instructor taught me to set the height of the tank in the cam bands, so that where the valve meets the top of the tank is level with the top of the handle on the hard plastic 'backplate' on my jacket style BCD.
Some people in the group then needed to adjust this a small amount on future dives, but it was a great starting point. This seems to work reasonably well for both my BCD and any I've hired on holidays, regardless of whether the tank has been Ali or steel. The regs don't hit the back of my head and my trim is about right. Jacket style BCD seem to all have a short webbing strap to go round the neck of the tank to make setting this height easy and repeatable.
I've just ordered a backplate and wing (the Xdeep Zen - SS with standard harness), is there any similar 'rule' to setting the tank height that gets you close to perfect every time? I realise a little trial and error is probably required, but a starting point would be great.
I notice that BP/W BCDs don't tend to have the tank neck strap - any reason for this? How do you keep the tank height consistent?

Been trying to compare Seadragon video light system perhaps you can help! I want to upgrade from single light to dual lighting system. Currently using Seadragon 3000SF Dual Pro Beam and thought I’d just get another one the same. Is this too much or the Duo 6000f is enough? Can’t find much difference between the 2 if compared one to one apart from the dual pro beam is 90cri while the single 3000f is 80cri. Can you please help - particularly this brand, which duo pair to go for ? Thank you 💙

#askmark is it bad or unusual to get narkd. My daughter is a training dive master and got narkd diving a wreck at 27m. It was her first dive diving nitrox. I asked her instructor who said it’s all part of the training. Thoughts please

While on the topic of Regulators, I am a New Diver. Certified OW(PADI) Aug 6 2023. What should I look for in a Good Regulator? My Shop Favors Aqualung gear. I like Sherwood/Genesis products. But was not able to try one of their Regs in Class. They sent me home with Aqualung and US Divers for the classes. Thank you Mark

Talking about regulators second stage, a noobie question please, could you explain me the real difference between a main regulator second stage and the Octopus? The Octopus is also a second stage regulator, can an Octopus be used as "primary" second stage on a pony tank for example?
