While I was in South Carolina visiting the grandparents this line is literally down road and hard to miss. Most of this Chase is Along US-701 surprisingly the first thing i saw while driving past the headquarters was a trio of new (to the line) 6 axle power including an EX Southern Pacific SD40t-2 tunnel motor, this line is definitely booming with business now a-days compared to when it first reopened and being limited to 4 axle power and now having 6 axle road power

I was a conductor for CALA from 2001-2004. I'm amazed at the improvements that RJCS has made since 2015. The transformed a line that was at the brink of abandonment, into a profitable line again. Though all are long gone, one could possibly imagine the amount of traffic & revenue if coal for Santee Cooper, rock for Martin Marietta, & plywood & wood chips from Georgia Pacific were to all come back.
Realistically, it would be nice if RJ Corman would offer a some type of passenger train across the waterway into Myrtle Beach. Whether it's a dinner train or tourist train, anything to save that portion of the line from being ripped up for a trail. They have it in Kentucky, it could work here as well.
