During the SR just before the 6-trains, players were buying shares of their own companies from the bank pool rather than the IPO. This means none of the money paid goes to the company treasury, and it reduces the company's income during ORs so it can buy more trains. That makes total sense to do when buying shares of another player's company, but I don't understand why you'd want to do this with your company. What's the reasoning behind this tactic?

The hex trains in 1849 are pretty simple once you realise that you just need to count hexsides for them

Speaking of randomness in 18XX, _1883: Building Railroads in Northern Italy_ has random elements, including an events deck. The reviews I've read have been uniformly poor, however.

So during the ORs in which the blue company ran for the first time, Shawn was in the perfect spot to dump the yellow company on Ian. He would have had to move the four onto the brown, and let brown buy the first diesel. Then sell all the shares in yellow in the stock round.

I’m not sure if you covered this later, but the Ferry says that the “player owner” gets to lay the port, you don’t have to buy it in and you can lay it in OR1

Hi! Love these streams, they're cool. One thing I would maybe change is swap the two camera images on the left, it's a bit confusing that the top people are on the bottom of the big picture.

At this point would donating 1$ on the patreon be more annoying than useful? (Because I imagine moving from 0$ to non-zero increases the admin required.)

Which spreadsheet are you using for the math in the end?
