TIP! IT WORKED! I always keep a spare back door key buried in the back yard. When I got locked out I dug up the rear door key in the back, let myself in, then went down to my basement. Then, in a matter of an hour or so, I made the tool. After going to the front door with my tool, about an hour later I was able to get in. (Then I put the “tool” under the front door mat if it happened again). A real time saver.

I'll remember this next time, instead of breaking the window I'll remove the front door lock and go to my van that has a shop in it and make a key for the door...reinstall the lock then use the key I made to get through the door, then when I'm done I'll show a big thumbs up so those that aren't supposed to see me will think I'm cool !

What is being shown is an old method and can still be useful in some locks. The thing missing, here, is the fact that the bump key has to be made before the lock brakes. So, you take out the lock, mark it off, and produce a bump key. It is just as easy to take the lock of, see how many points it has, and purchase a bump key.

Bump keys have been a thing as long as locks have. This isn't worrying anybody over much

Those locks would just snap off, also many modern locks have anti bump features, plus some locks have sidebars so for this reason this won't open all locks in my opinion. Aside from that, not a bad toolmaking video for those who like to pick with there own home made tools.
