The UK's Conservative Party is under electoral pressure over the cost of living crisis, poor economic growth and a raft of corporate criticism. One of Chancellor Jeremy Hunt's key responses has been the Mansion House Compact, an agreement for nine major pension providers to boost their investment in growth companies. We speak to one of the signatories, Phoenix Group CEO Andy Briggs. "Bloomberg UK" focuses on the biggest economic, financial and political issues facing Britain. Hosted by Francine Lacqua, the program goes beyond the market moves with expert analysis and top interviews from the heart of London.

"Is there anyone on the horizon who would come to the UK?"
"Eh, so, I don't think so. "
Not what I`d call a vote of confidence.

Its mad that any Govt would let the jackals feed on 70+ year olds....whereas if Govt forced seniors to downsize and live off their own income from 70+ the jackals would have no market because below 70s are either mortgaged to the hilt or rent squatters. It's time Govts around the world tell the 70+ they've lived too long and govt need to make it clear they won't be taxpayer funded to 100. The fact Govts are too scared to go near the topic is frightening giving the other 60% of the population are going to feel the Recession harder and longer while we are fois gras old people for 40-50 years....just picture that.

As I could not survive on my poor retirement paycheck within the US I have resettled to Russia several years ago looking for cheaper place to retire. However several months ago payments have been stopped. When I requested the Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, which manages the transactions they replied that because Central Bank of Russia has been sanctioned therefore payments became impossible. I know that Russia supplies the US with titanium along with some other materials and of course those shipments have always been paid. It means payments still possible when authorities want it. Moreover each Embassy has cashier desk where I could come getting cash. It is what I proposed in my communications with the Embassy, but they did not reply anymore. Neither Social Security nor Embassy in Moscow wanted to have any business with me. I am to old and weak to resettle again. They also defrauded me on three Economic Impact Payments that I was illegible for. I wrote to Biden in White House with no result of course. This is how the US government treats its own citizens. I can only go to the street begging in a foreign country. Judge yourself. The US is a country of fraudsters. Watch out the US.

Over 30 yrs of Tory Govt since 1979 has economically deeply damaged UK
With ever growing poverty and a failing state, plus ever decreasing.
Between 1979-1997 & 2010-2023 Tories have Governed in UK as they've always done into poverty.
As a Scottish Women I have always seen the leadership of Tory Party as Arrogant Upper Class English Men. Even now with Women breaking into top echelons of Tory Party letting women into top jobs, unfortunately the women are generally display the same superiority attitude Tory men have always shown.
Plus Tory attitude if using workers to enrich their people has never changed.
Working Class Tory Voters needs ti wake up realising they get thrown left overs to keep them sweet.
