Crosshair has a huge problem

Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 1 ended with Crosshair allowing the Bad Batch to escape, but we know Crosshair lied. Is this gonna get him killed by Rampart?

The problem is he sees himself as valuable to the empire, which he might’ve been, considering he seems to be the first death trooper. But in the end, he will only be a number to the Empire.

Actually the bigger problem with crosshair is we already know his fate. He has to die. In season one we saw him murder and authorize the murder of civilians in cold blood. There's no coming back from that. He can't just have a change of heart and a redemption ark to join up with the bad batch again like nothing happened. He'll probably be killed after realizing he played a part in an evil that even he couldn't agree with, so he'll give his life in a last stand saving the squad or something. He's never re-joining the team clone wars style thats for sure.

In my opinion, Season 2 will see Crosshair begin to show cracks in his idealism regarding the Empire. In the trailer for Season 2, we know he teams up with Cody and that Cody has his own doubts regarding the Empire, which Crosshair seems to blow off because of how he views the Empire. However, I believe he would find evidence of how corrupt the Imperial High Command really is, not just Rampart but the Imperial Hierarchy as a whole. This would likely lead him to defect or split off on his own in a similar way to what happened to the Hand of Judgement in the Legends novels "Allegiance" and "Choices of One". Crosshair would still believe in the Empire in concept but instead of hunting Rebels, he'd take out corrupt Imperials. This would likely lead him to team up with his old squad since they'd then have aligned goals but he wouldn't rejoin the Batch outright because they are still enemies of the Empire and he personally believes he doesn't deserve to rejoin them.
