Seriously, thank you! Been looking for someone to explain the Base ISO's for the R5C. I was getting an extreme amount of noise but hoping this will help me in future shoots. Just a recommendation I would add R5C maybe at the end of your title. I would have been more inclined to click on the video knowing that you used the R5C while explaining the issue.

Your content is gold and you always give that confidence that you know what you’re talking.

I know you don’t choose your ads, but YouTube picks such conman and bs content creators such as Parker Walbeck and that V Shred.

Great video as always.

if your getting noise on R5C You need more light higher ISO or just shoot in XF-AVC in Intra Frame. I always get some noise when I record in Raw

Great video! Did you test how much we lose in the highlights with ISO 400? Also, you can record 8k on the R5 and R5c in mp4 as well, up to 30 fps

Hey thanks for the great video! Would this still be the case for the C200 too?

Silly question but is Set Iso the Iso you actually set in Camera settings or its the preconfigured set iso set in dual iso.

Its not related to Canon at all - but I noticed something today working with my Sony FX30 and recording ProRes RAW on my Ninja V. Shooting in Cine EI at Base ISO 800 and monitor in PQ on the Ninja V, the files are HDR files so they import SUPER over exposed. I convert my ProRes RAW to CDNG so I can use those clips in Davinci Resolve and it sadly bakes in that HDR to the file, so I cant change anything in the clip attributes to bring it back to legal range - Davinci doesn't know anymore if its in legal range or HDR anymore. But if I go in the RAW tab and bring the Gain down along with the exposure a tiny bit to make it look like its in legal range was no noise. I was very confused by this. When I went to apply noise reduction I realized there wasnt any noise...at all actually. It was super sharp and clear. I went back out and shot some test shots only an hour later monitoring with the r709 LUT on the Ninja V and those files came in looking exactly how they looked when I recorded them, and ofcourse there was noise as usual. Kinda interesting

Unfortunately with the C70 you can’t use an ISO below 800 when you film in RAW…. First thing that I tried with the new firmware.
