You are teaching so many things that I have not been able to get out of other tutorials. I like that you show so I can follow along and that you simplify for someone that is not familiar with all the options and affects. Many thanks Mark! Intersecting the sky mask with a linear gradient is something I've never tried, but I'll definitely do so to deal with "hard stop" horizons.

I love watching you do editing in Lr. The topic may be something I have figured out on my own, but it is nice to see I am not doing it wrong. Now, this time, I was like, yup, I do that, and that, now that I didn't know. Using the + - tool in masks and the linear gradient on the horizon is a great idea. You never stop learning.
