Marshall Origin 20 Tube Combo Amplifier Review

CORRECTION: At 1:17 in the video Don refers to cascading the amplifier inputs, which implies a serial signal path, when he really meant that “cascading” the channels together creates parallel signal paths.

Packed with a generous complement of tubes, the Origin ORI20C exhibits vintage-inspired Marshall tone. This amp is powerful in its simplicity. Dial in the Gain and Master controls to get the right amount of crunch, then shape your tone with the Presence knob and the 3-band EQ. A unique Tilt control blends bright and normal sounds, while switchable power enables high-output sounds at any volume.

One of the best demos so far. It seems like the tilt, treble and presence have to be down a bit to Control the fizz in the gain. Waiting for my 20 head to pair with a 212 :) Thank you for a good demo😎

Can you refer to the DI output in the amplifier? It seems that there is not much explanation and videos about it and how it sounds... Is it recommended to connect it (in terms of sound) to the console during a performance? How much is the sound damaged (if at all) in this case? what do you think?
Even electrically - from which part of the board does this port come out? I would appreciate it if you could address this.

I am looking adding a Marshall, I currently play through a fender blues junior. Which one has that glassy marshall clean tone? Origin or DSL. Both have great driven tones. thank for your advice.

Jury still out yet as the public hasn’t gotten a hold of em yet...soon enough.Very intriguing design and pricepoint is great....now let’s see how close these are to achieving the plexi tones of those great early Marshall’s.

I really enjoyed your demo. Nice touch, beautifull playing. I just got an origin 20 head with a SV112 cabinet and it's awsome. I also ordered right away a tumnus mini pedal. By the way, what were your settings on the tumnus to get this raging tone I enjoyed so much? I also liked the clean and drive tones. I wrote them down and they worked just fine with my amp at home with a two notes captorX attenuator for neighbours safety ! Thanks. Patrick.

boosted with a Blues Driver clone with gain at 0 or with a Germanium Fuzz Face clone it's amazing: lot of sound just using guitar volume knob
