What can the John Deere 1025r Backhoe Do

It's kinda painful to watch such a new guy operating the John Deere 1025r Backhoe, but the machine does great work! A guy get's used to the controls fairly easy and it digs out stumps like a Champ!

Just happened across your videos. As someone that just bought a John Deere 2305 a couple of years ago I've learned that the best way to take out a stump is to start at the stump digging out the roots and if you can't break them just keep moving outwards until you can. I'm 72 years old and I've taken out a few really big stumps that way. Also, there is a YouTube channel called "Tale of 3 cabins and he shows how to build a low cost dolly for your backhoe that will make your life a lot easier. I had to modify mine a little bit because I have a 260 backhoe but it works great. You can bring the backhoe to the tractor instead of the other way around. I have a 2018 1025r. I learned to start to dig stumps out starting 3 to 4 feet out and work into the stump. Breaking all roots as u come in to stump.

It’s always exciting when the stumps start to move and it’s like the gravy when they start cracking! Always still have a ways to go when they start cracking but it’s the first real sign that we are winning!

Took a while but i dug a 5 foot hole for a dead horse a few years back. Does nothing great but does everything well enough. Underpowered small tippy fucker thats too expensive and loud but i wouldn't trade mine...unless its for a 3 series. 🤘

A standard ripper would knock that out in 10 minutes or less. We pulled a row of stumps last weekend. 5 with a unit like yours and a bucket, 5 with same unit type but with ripper. The ripper did 5 for everyone by the bucket. Ripper also displaced FAR LESS DIRT.

They only mark the public utilities not a electrical line that is put in place by the homeowner.

Just not enough power! Its hard to dig with arms that are below a minimum of 8k break out force! Good video nice machine

Just remember that when you are using the backhoe. Before you dig into anything especially when you are going to be doing it in the area of your building. Have the utilities marked. You just have to call, and they will mark the public utilities for free.
