many thanks. a nice surprise for me. i am an old (81) jazz fan since i was 15. i like all styles BUT free jazz. i was more cool and west=coast oriented but also very much bop and hard bop. and swing ( mainstream or middle jazz as it is also called) and New Orleans and Chicago. this is REAL MUSIC BY REAL MUSICIANS, and, of course, BLUES and GOSPEL .

Looking through BG
On The Record by D. Russell Connor and Warren W. Hicks published in 1978, these songs were recorded between Oct. 18, 1933-May 14, 1934, in New York. It's possible these recording, when re-released in 1949 outsold his Capitol Records recordings collected in Undercurrent Blues.

Dr Jeckyl and Mr Jibe was recorded in 1933 so this album appears to be a reissue of older 1930s hits.
