This just makes me feel like Dogday feels bad for Catnap, like he understood his jealousy just from how he speaks.

It sounds CatNap was quite lonely after reading the board. It seems his role in the Critters was to ensure everyone was well rested so the Critters could play the next day. But it says CatNap watched all his friends sleep. Does that mean he never slept, or he slept alone when all the other Critters were up with the children? I can understand his jealousy and loneliness. Plus we don’t know what the accident he got in to owe his life to the Prototype was. Was it because of the Critters?
